Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme Kick Start
The bike has very little resemblance to the old CBZ, the headlights got a completely new design. However, new looks is a little small for a bike of this size. The first thing that one would notice in this bike is the indicator lights. Both the back and front indicators merge with the main lights and it looks really nice and unique. The side part of the bike also got a significant face lift. The coloured body part connects as a single line from the tank to the tail lights and is very nicely contoured. Another feature which adds to its cool looks is the grip handle bars for the pillion riderĂ¢€¦ standing out as two individual horn like bars, it adds to the uniqueness of CBZ. Also the silencer is new and improved. Other things which adds to its beauty are: tubular diamond-frame type chassis with a single down tube and a box-section swing arm, matt-black powder-coated engine block, matt-black alloy wheels, Black plastic lower side panels striped across by a shiny chrome sash, split hand grips for the pillion rider with a distinct look. Additional Teflon coat over visible silvery surfaces, a strip of clear glass above the headlamp conceals the parking lamp or pilot lamps positioned above the headlight, body coloured rear mirrors adds colour to the handlebar area. Classy, brushed-steel console finish and further rugged knee recesses built into the large, shapely fuel tank with Xtreme's logo emblazoned across its sides, aircraft type fuel tank lid, deeply contoured seat. This is bike is provided with non-metallic bright colours. The dash board has 3 dials, one for the speedometer, one for the rpm indicator and another for the fuel indicatorĂ¢€¦ all of them descend in the order of the size. The shock absorbers do not have the Gas shock absorber unit as it is advertised in Hunk and other bikes. It has the Advanced Microprocessor Ignition (AMI)System. Tail lamp cluster has a segmented stop-and-brake light section with turn indicators built into a single unit. The old CBZ had a 156 cc engine, but did not have the pickup and mileage as that of the present engine. Definitely Hero Honda has made some improvement in the engine for this new CBZ Xtreme. The new bike has the powerful windscreen. The maximum power is 10.6 KW @ 8500 rpm and maximum torque id of 12.80 N-m @ 6500 rpm. It is very sensitive and the engine responds even for the slightest twist. Even though it is just 150 cc, the pickup is quite good in comparison to other bikes. The CBZ boasts a 5 speed gear box with the usual 1 down, 4 up gear shift pattern and a 156 cc engine that generates 12.8 bhp (9.5 kW) power. The clutch is smooth and gears can be shifted with the slightest effort in the foot. The front wheel has a 240 mm disc break and rear wheel has a 130 mm Internal Expanding Shoe. This feature is also the main thing which prove it a sporty and safe bike. The bike is however worthy of the CBZ name due to its pickup and performance. In fact, CBZ xtreme is a powerful 150 cc bike in the country with 14.4Ps. Extremely good suspension built with the fast moving solo rider in mind as front telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and rear swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorber. Powerful high beam builds safety for the night rider. The large speedometer, smaller tachometer, and fuel gauge can be read quickly and easily. Tinted cowl improves aerodynamics and cuts the glare on the bike's instrumentation. The design of the bike provide relaxed and comfortable riding and the upright posture doesn't strain wrists. The engineers of the company kept tall riders in mind and made it with generous knee recesses built into the fuel tank and well placed footrests for the pillions. Forward leaning position enhances effortless braking. The 240 and 130mm disc brake is highly efficient and gives instant response. New brake pedal has a little toe guard for the big toe and a all-chrome tab to press on. Wide 100/90 low aspect ratio rear tyre for additional road grip and safety. Puncture resistant tuff up tube increase reliability of performance. The CBZ Xtreme has the best gearbox in its class, smooth and free from problems. As per test figures, the bike takes 5.7 seconds for a 0-60 kmph dash while at 0-400 kmph it can achieve in 20.2 seconds. The top speed is 11.9 kmph. The engine feels very smooth and revs willingly without any vibrations. Braking 60 kmph (meters) 23.6
